Lesedi Cultural Village is on the road to Hartebeespoort Dam. Here, through different mock villages, you will be introduced to 5 of the rural ethnic groups of South Africa whose traditional cultural practices are theatrically re-enacted. These are the Zulu, Pedi, amaNdebele, Xhosa and Sotho. There are 2 shows a day at either 11.30 or 16.30. Enjoy traditional singing and dancing in the boma. You can stay for lunch or dinner after the show and dancing and enjoy a traditional meal.
During the first war of independence, Heidelberg served as capital of the South African Republic, from 1880 to 1883.
